The half chicken is a joke. It is a quarter chicken. What a scam!
The steak was to sally, all other foods were OK.
Good food, not the best. Decent atmosphere, good alcohol selection and full bar. Not extremely authentic Argentina but an Argentinean flair. Waiter ruined the experience by not reading the table and being extremely pushy and non attentive. Also several staff members gave dirty looks when we didn't leave the moment we paid, they weren't even that busy yet, still half the room open. Also, insanely expensive for less than spectacular food and service.
Had a great outdoor experience, sweetbreads were amazing, chorizo on the spicy side ( not your Argentine standard ). Overall still one of the best on Upper East side. If you want to chill with some grill, this is it.
Highly recommend the empanadas for an appetizer and the Steak Envoltine.
Sitting on 2nd Ave. Having drinks. Fun,Friendly. Real good brunch. Locals frequent it.
Meat is the focus, good quality, flavor. Argentinian wines.. attentive wait staff. The restaurant was quieter last night, however it is usually busier and a bit loud.
Good Argentinian place, with a menu that is true to Argentinian cuisine, i.e. meat and more meat. We ordered the parrillada for two and it was a large plate, in my opinion for 3. Steak and beef were excellent. Chicken was dry. It's a little overpriced, but worth a visit.
Great ambience, fast and kind service, great selection of wines, nice bar and outdoor seating, clean, food plates are distinctive, fair prices for the location. You can actually see when they are grilling the meat. Fresh ingredients.
Argentinian restaurant means great meat including a 2-person mixed grill with an actual mini-grill placed on your table. Enjoyed the outside tables on a warm summer Friday evening.
I really like Libertador. You get tasty grilled steaks at a fair price. Wines are good quality. Appetizers are very good. Service is pretty fast and attentive. The atmosphere is friendly and conducive to enjoying the meal, though, as is usually the case in New York, tables are crowded. The restaurant's theme is Argentinian. That especially shows up with the steaks. And you see several wine choices from Spain.Libertador works as a group meal outing, as a date night, or to take your kids for an enjoyable meal. It is not cheap, but not unduly expensive, either.Libertador gets crowded, especially on weekend evenings, so make a reservation.
I dined here because of all the great reviews. However, just with tasting the margarita and the empanadas I knew I made a horrible restaurant pick. I had never had such a watered down margarita, and the empanadas (beef and chicken) had NO flavor with the most random ingredients. $35 flushed away. If you eat here at least don’t order those two!The waiter and busboys did a great job and were efficient. Don’t be shocked when you see the place empty.
Awesome place to eat a delish steak de jour' or some Panqueque crepe fantisimo
Good food, good service, relatively adorable price in the neighborhood compared to the quality is food.
Best Argentinian resultant we have ever been to. If you can, dine here. The steak is the best in New York, and we are locals. 10 out of 10, hands down!
Incredibly delicious steak. The staff was attentive and kind. I can't believe I live near such a gem. I'm already making plans to go back.
Very good New York Strip Steak. Outdoor seating with a rain cover.
The food is delicious. I loved my creme corn empanadas. I'm returning for more!
The steak I ordered was way overcooked. I sent it back and they gave me another overcooked steak. All the waiting staff was super friendly, though.
Ford here was awesome we stopped by with the pooch and ate outside and without asking they brought over a bowl for him. The empenadas were all baked and delish, I had the skirt steak and it was cooked perfectly medium rare and very tasty. Would def go back.
The parillada was really good and so was the sangria, I need to visit again!
Great atmosphere
This is not authentic Argentina restaurant food& Service are bad 👎 I have been there 3 times and gave up this place served me a fried steak full of ashes Please don't even think about give this restaurant a chance and price is high if you like to go to a good Argentina 🇦🇷 restaurant go to la cabaña in queens Northen Blvd 86 St.
The staff is very friendly and the empanadas are amazing! Every flavor is great but my faves are the corn and then the beef!
A peak dining experience. We were a party of 5, excellently accommodated with primo service. Loved the empanadas, especially the spinach and the black bean. Salad and steak and fries couldn't be better. Grass fed organic meats were amazing, cooked perfectly. There's a buzz from the crowd and the cloying grill, but we never felt crowded or rushed. Simple but thoughtful decor and layout. The chocolate mousse and espresso were similarly excellent. Not a single bad word to say about this place. Go if you can.
Would highly recommend! A bit expensive but drinks are to die for and empanadas are the best in the upper east side (perhaps all of Manhattan). Will def go back when I return to NYC again.
Nice place for a good price-to-quality skirt steak. As a descendant of Argentinians, I can tell you it’s the real thing!
Very good wine selection, they have menu options for two with really good price and great quality.
I had very high hopes for this restaurant. The presentation on their dishes is great, but I was disappointed in their food quality and service. The best food item was the spinach empanada. The service was the worst part of our experience. Ratings on a scale of 5. Great brunch! Interesting composition of Benedict! Fun style! Will be back for steak!
While some of the food (skirt steaks) were delicious the other steaks were mediocre. The big problem was that three people ordered the bone in rib eye and received the regular rib eye because the waitress did not understand there is a difference. She kept saying it's the same. Therefore two people sent the non-bone in rib eye back and had to wait 10 minutes for their food. Some other items were forgotten such as drinks and a dessert. At the end of the night since we were a group of 8 a gratuity, exceeding $100, had been added in. Management was completely mum about the lackluster service and simply wanted us to vacate.
We love having brunch or dinner here! Their octopus, egg plant, mussels and meatball small plates are amazing! Red sangria and agave beers were a great pairing. The mixing of all options for empanadas is just completely amazing! Steaks are always a great choice and they have so many different options either for one or for a pair of steaks.... perfect for date night or family occasions like birthday or anniversary parties. They have great outdoor seating when the weather permits which is great for people watching during Saturday or Sunday brunches. We can't wait until our next yummy delicious visit!
Argentinian food and the feeling at this location is excellent. I can say this place does it for me. The service was friendly and sociable. This place has an awesome atmosphere.
Delicious & friendly - have been great at pulling the neighborhood together during COVID times!
Pricey but the mixed grill is definitely fun. (Anything on those hot griddles is). Wine selection isn't half bad, though I'm not sure I'd go here just for drinks. Great spot to watch soccer games.
The owners are fantastic. Always happy to see you and very friendly. The food is also fantastic. Meats meet meats. Personally, I say check out the short rib over french fries. The juice from this delicious dish flavor up some of the crispiest golden potatoes you've ever had.
I celebrated my birthday with 10 friends and we all had a good time. Great service. Fantastic food. No pricey at all. the lamb chop is the best here!!
Don't be fooled by the potential intrigue of the "Argentinian" label on this restaurant - the quality of meat was a far cry from what you'd hope for out of a steakhouse on the upper east side of Manhattan. Overly seasoned, thinly cut and dried out beyond belief, the steak was served on a searingly hot cast iron skillet that continued to cook the meat well beyond conscionable levels. Furthermore, sides were overpriced for the size of the plates. I can't recommend this restaurant based on my experience with the quality vs price. One extra star on the review for the service; our servers shined.
Great food and great service!
Consistently delicious! I had the steak salad and boyfriend had the lamb burger (not pictured). Kinda loud when crowded.
Very nice, Upper East side, cozy place good food, good service.
I ate outside here the other night and overall had a great experience. Good service, nice wait staff, delicious empanadas. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the inequity of entree portion sizes. My friend got lobster ravioli and there were only 4, while I got the seafood pasta which had a lot of spaghetti topped with about 20 different pieces of seafood. He was left hungry while k could not finish. That said, all the food was still good.
Delicious food! I had the skirt steak with mashed potatoes which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their mezcal cocktails were also amazing. Definitely worth it!
Visited on a Friday evening. You could tell it was an awesome place because it was packed. The food was delicious, a completely new flavoring to an everyday meal. The waiter was very attentive, and nice, and the ambiance was great as well.
This used to be one of my favorite Argentina restaurants but this time was the worst. Portions are tiny, everybody ended up hungry and the service was only interested in charging us extra for food. Meat was also overcooked even we insisted we wanted it rare. The parrillada specially is tiny. Never again.
VG Brunch. Friendly Staff and Some Unique Menu Items. Reasonable Prices.
Food was delicious, drinks were pricey.
The food here was amazing and the wait wasn't bad at all! They had a large range of different steaks and you could get them cooked to your liking. It was all extremely well done, the staff was nice and the food was spectacular! I have never had a better steak. I would definitely recommend!
